Photography is very personal. No two people see the world the same. For as long as I can remember, and that is a lot of years, I have loved the sound the shutter makes when a picture is taken. I have taken thousands of images, some good, some bad, some great. I have learned from them all.

The current state of photography is in constant change. The equipment will change and evolve, but the art of photography will remain the same. Subject and composition along with the mechanics of how an image was taken are both important.  With that in mind, I bring to my work a unique perspective on the world. I have been blind in my left eye since a childhood accident. I see the world differently. Not better or not worse just differently. I have learned that this unique vision has given me a way to concentrate on the art of photography and not just the technique of photography.

I use a computer darkroom. I do not add anything to the picture that was not originally there. Because the camera cannot see what the human eye sees, I use the tools available today to render the picture as I remember seeing it.

I also enjoy the art of printing the finished photo. The ability to use the computer, printer and paper to achieve what I want is exciting. Each paper or canvas has its own unique texture and produces a different take on a photograph. Using these tools allows me the opportunity to explore my art in ways only imagined a few shot years ago.
